Meadow Stage - 5:50PM
The Woodshedders' lineup includes Dwayne Brooke on guitar and vocals, Ryan Mayo on upright bass and piano, Jesse Shultzaberger on drums, and David Van Deventer on fiddle. The Woodshedders have played a bunch of fun shows this part year including Red Wing Roots Music Festival, Deep Roots Mountain Revival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Festival, Mountain Stage New Song Fest, Kingman Island Bluegrass Festival, PBS Song of the Mountains, The U.S. State Department's Fourth of July Picnic, Opera House LIVE!, The Hamilton, Confluence Festival, WAMU’s Capital Americana, TheJefferson Theater, and a monthly residency at Hill Country BBQ DC. They are the also the host band of Virginia’s Watermelon Park Fest.
The Woodshedders have been working diligently on another brand new, all-original album project, several tunes of which you may have heard live since Watermelon Park Fest '16 including Blur, Like the Sun, Januray 23, Tell the World, and Spark. They've recorded several of these tracks at Montrose Studios in Richmond, VA so far and will be releasing singles over the Winter months before the final album launches sometime in the Spring. Word around the campfire is there will be several special guests (of course) and a horn section!
After their set was cut short for rain last year, we knew that we had to get these guys back to Kingman Island to show what they can do. Check out the Woodshedders' website for tour dates and news about the band!
